Tell me your dreams

I got up in the morning, and reached for my phone to find an overflowing inbox!!After a while I logged into my Facebook account, and I could see profuse patriotism in all of my friend’s status updates. The Google homepage image displayed a tricolor icon. The front page of The Sunday Times conveyed their wishes to the readers of the nation.
Dreams, Vision, Hope!! A liberated nation, a united country, a developed India!! You come across all these terms on every Independence Day. Yes, it’s our 63rd independence year. And yet again we’re baffled by the same question- Are we truly liberated.
I don’t intend to ask this question to the nation at large. But this is for all my friends. Friends who love the country, who are out and out a patriot, who really want to play their part in the role of a liberated nation. Let’s find out today what is our contribution in making India the country we want.
Our country has got its own flaws and inadequacies like any other nation. The government and the common man are vexed with various issues. Problems with no solutions like inflation, floods, honour killing, Maoist attacks, corruption at every stage, cross border terrorism, have disturbed the nation per se. We all are directly or indirectly a part of these problems. There might come a time in our lives when we would be in a position to facilitate in curbing these crises. And I’m sure we would go ahead and do the needful then. But even today we all are in a position to help our country improvise in some or the other way.
Let’s take a vow, to fight against corruption. Let’s decide to avoid littering in public places. Let’s respect the senior citizens. Let’s abide traffic rules. Let’s take a moment to stop and help the blind cross the road. Let’s vote and select the appropriate candidate. Let’s avoid brawls. Let’s help the one in need. Let’s be kind to the poor. Let’s save electricity, water, fuel for the ones who have been deprived of these basic gifts and for the coming generation. Let’s stick to our morals and behave responsibly. Let’s walk hand in hand and pass this message to the entire nation. Let’s make India a better place to live in. And feel the truth in the line-Proud to be an Indian!!
